Accessibility Statement

Lula Cafe is committed to making our space as accessible and comfortable as possible for all.  We recognize the limitations of our quirky, old, and sometimes cramped physical environment and strive to learn what we can do to make it available to all our guests.

Lula Cafe is wheelchair accessible, with two ADA compliant bathrooms on the dining room side.  The restaurant is divided into two spaces, at 2537 and 2541 N Kedzie, respectively, both on ground level.  A passageway connecting the two spaces passage is 38 inches wide and has a transom that drops in elevation approximately 1 inch in height.  This transom is sloped.

The main entrance is at 2541 N Kedzie. There is an alternative entrance at 2537 N Kedzie that does not require movement through this passageway.

The restaurant is housed in a historic Logan Square landmark building with brick walls and an original tin ceiling.  These materials combined with the busy-ness of the restaurant (and the small footprint) can create a loud and energetic environment.  Those wishing for a quieter time should inquire with the host and request earlier seatings.  Requests for quieter tables will certainly be addressed, though we are limited in what we can accomplish.

There is also a small seating section (two tables) on an elevated platform at the window.  This platform requires a step up of 4 inches.

We have magnifying glasses and lighting available for those who wish to request them.  Please ask your server.  And we offer a QR code menu at all times. At this time ordering is not available via mobile device, however, please check back with us as we work to develop new technology in the restaurant.

The waiting area is located in the bar and is standing room only.  We do have extra chairs and stools available for those who require them.  Please do not hesitate to ask and we will set something up to make your wait for a table more comfortable.

We welcome children and parents openly and offer highchairs, boosters, and slings for baby seats, etc.  The bathroom located on the south side of the dining room has a changing table.

If you have comments or concerns please email us at eat@lulacafe.com.
